Patients with dry eyes can be affected in a number of different ways: from mild irritation to debilitating ocular changes. This course will be taught on a technical level and will discuss anatomy of the cornea, anatomy of the tear film and the dry eye tests that your doctor may require. We will also discuss the various signs and symptoms of dry eyes as well as questions to ask the patient during an examination.
Learning Objectives:
Upon conclusion of this activity, attendees will be able to:
Identify the anatomy of the cornea and the (3) layers of the tear film
Identify the function of these (3) layers (in regard to mucous, lipid and aqueous formation)
Discuss the various tests for dry eyes and what information each test will provide for your doctor
