This course will discuss patient cases involving the fitting of specialty contact lenses. Lens design and fitting discussions will include specialty gas permeable lenses for irregular astigmatism, prosthetic lens fitting and design, piggyback lens fitting, and other special cases. Lens design, the fitting process, and lens troubleshooting will be discussed for each case.
Learning Objectives:
Upon conclusion of this activity, attendees will be able to:
Identify the various specialty gas permeable lens designs, including initial lens selection and lens troubleshooting
Understand the process of fitting of prosthetic lenses, including lens design, color options, iris matching, and troubleshooting
Discuss the fitting process for lens piggybacking with different corneal conditions.
Identify unusual cornea presentations and lens selection and fitting for those patients.
