Case based presentations are utilized to examine the role of a wide range of medical treatment options for patients with ocular hypertension and glaucoma. How and when to change or increase therapy is discussed. New treatments will focus on preservative free glaucoma medications and potential new drug delivery systems. Clinical trial outcomes and related experience with these new treatments will be reviewed.

Describe the different classes of glaucoma medications and their mechanism of action and major side effects
Describe the fixed dose combination glaucoma medications and their role as a treatment option
Describe the potential benefits of preservative free glaucoma medications
Understand newer glaucoma medications including prostaglandins with nitric oxide and rho kinase inhibitors
Understand clinical findings that suggest a change or addition of medical therapy for the patient with glaucoma
Learn about developing glaucoma drug delivery systems
