This course will present an overview of the pediatric exam from infancy through school age. Attendees will learn how to perform all components of a pediatric eye and vision examination including evaluation of visual acuity, refractive error, binocularity/accommodation and ocular health. Areas of concern including prescribing for refractive conditions, treatment of binocular disorders and/or health issues will be discussed along with recommendations for referrals or additional testing.

Upon conclusion of this activity, attendees will be able to:
Improve practitioners comfort in examining pediatric patients
Implement exam modifications based on the patient's age and cognitive level
Become comfortable in prescribing vision correction for children based on refractive error and the presence of any binocular/accommodative disorders
Develop the ability to provide full-scope pediatric primary care and to know when, and to whom, referrals should be made
