W. Barry Lee, MD, FACS has practiced for 20 years at Eye Consultants of Atlanta and Piedmont Healthcare as a member of the Cornea/ Anterior Segment service, routinely seeing patients for corneal diseases, complex cataracts, and refractive surgery. Dr. Lee completed medical school and residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center and a cornea and refractive surgical fellowship at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. He is currently the co-Medical Director of the Georgia Eye Bank and director of the cornea fellowship program at Eye Consultants. He has completed the Leadership Development Program with the AAO in 2010 and has received the Senior Achievement Award and Secretariat Award with the AAO. He has served on the board of directors for the Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA), Georgia Eye Bank and the Cornea Society, and is President Elect of the Cornea Society for 2024. Dr. Lee has served as president of the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology and is currently Chair of its CME Committee. Dr. Lee has been selected as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly, Atlanta Top Doctors, Best Doctors in America, America’s Best 150 Eye Doctors by Newsweek, and is a recipient of the R. Townley Paton Award for his work in cornea and eye banking by the EBAA. He is co-author of the textbook, Ocular Surface Disease published by Elsevier.
